The Tonnara di Scopello, nestled in a bay of incomparable beauty, sits on a land protected by two medieval towers that watch from above and is sheltered from the sea by two majestic and luxuriant stacks. It’s a monumental complex that faithfully represents the ancient history of the Sicilian sea and
traditions. Today it is a natural museum overlooking the crystalline water that preserves intact all the equipment and the tools used for tuna fishing, historical evidence of that economy that has represented for centuries one of the main sources of income for local people. Inside the complex, conceived as an ancient fishing village, there are 14 housing units surrounded by nature, which are rented respecting their original history.
It’s the perfect place for those who want to get away from the daily grind and immerse themselves in an incredible atmosphere made of history and wonderful nature.
